Here is another pattern that I tested for Itch to Stitch, the Sentosa Tank Top. The pattern description is :
With a unique, asymmetrical neckline, the Sentosa Tank will be your go-to tank top. The Sentosa has a relaxed fit and is great to be worn tucked or untucked!
Fabric
The pattern calls for “lightweight knit fabric with good recovery and 50% horizontal stretch such as jersey, double-brushed poly, viscose French terry”. I used a lightweight rayon knit.
Alterations
I cut a size 2 and sewed the top without any alterations. I should have gone up a size, the armholes are a bit tight for me and I wouldn’t mind if the neckline was a bit larger.
Construction
For a simple top, the sewing takes a relatively long time. There are three pleats in the front and the neckline and armholes are finished with a facing. Due to the asymmetrical neckline, you have to pay attention to the right and wrong sides.
Conclusion
I like that the top looks a bit more elegant than a simple summer tank. I will sew it again sometime in size 4.
