Last December I finally caught the Covid-virus and lay down for three days with a fever. The recovery was slow and took until January. The only thing I was able to do after work was sit in my chair, knit, and watch vlogmas videos. I wanted to knit an easy-to-wear sweater which should also be easy to knit. The Drops Autumn Cardinal was the perfect pattern for this.

Yarn
I used “Lima” by Drops in the colorway “red brick”. “Lima” is a 65% virgin wool, 35% alpaca DK yarn. It is a basic yarn and it was easy to knit. I do not remember how many skeins I used, unfortunately.

Alterations
I made a size S. The sweater is a bit oversized, but that is exactly how I wanted it to be. The only alteration I made by mistake is the neckline. According to the instruction, the neckline ribbing should be 8 cm, I only knit 8 rows. And I only noticed this mistake now while writing this blog post. I do not know if this could be fixed, but as I have no yarn left, I cannot fix it anyway.
Conclusion
The sweater met all my goals: easy to knit, still with an interesting detail so it is not boring, and it is easy to wear. It will always remind me of the weird advent of 2022.
